Garden taming

PictureGalinsoga & agapanthus are in the speedy spreaders category.
Nature quickly reclaims an untended garden. The thugs smother or push the more delicate flowers aside. Before you know it, you have a jungle. Despite your best intentions, life gets in the way.

Leave it to Wild about Weeds. We know this stuff. We can get stuck in to your garden, discover the positive features and identify areas needing extra attention.

We'll arrange an initial chat to meet you and your garden. If you’d like to go ahead with the work, email us and we’ll put you in the schedule and contact you before we do the mahi.

How we work
Here's an outline for a larger garden area, perhaps a wildish bank.
Prioritising areas near paths and visible from the house, we:
  • Weed around desirable plants. If you’re OK with weedspraying, on a suitable day, we’ll spray areas away from desirable plants, especially the invasive plants.
  • Triage the invasive plants (Weedbusters) vis the not so bad weeds that can be used as mulch or composted to improve the soil. Healthy soil with microorganism and fungi activity is the basis of healthy plants.
  • Deal to plants growing over paths and accessways.
  • Cut down dead plants (shrubs and small trees). We can lay the branches horizontally across a slope to hold water and nutrients on the property. Also decomposing wood helps garden ecology.
  • Remove green waste.
Our current hourly rate for a one-off garden visit is $75 inc GST,  plus any products used or waste removal. Payment is due within 7 days.

A summary report
After the initial clear up, we'll email you a summary explaining what you’ve got plant-wise, problem areas, solutions etc.

This will help you decide next steps to keep weeds down and encourage desirable plants to grow and self-seed.

Next steps
We can put you on our schedule for regular garden maintenance and improvement to control invasive weeds, and keep things tidy so you can enjoy your garden sanctuary.
This may include:
  • improving problem areas.
  • planting to attract birds and wildlife, fruit and flowers for you, and plants to improve the soil.
  • proactively managing invasive weeds.

We make it easy for you to enjoy your garden.
