From time to time, we need people to work with our small friendly team.

​Wild about Weeds is a successful small gardening business in Wellington’s southern suburbs offering our customers a tailored garden service,

We offer interesting and varied work, flexible work days, competitive pay and conditions, learning opportunities, a fun environment,  and branded work gear.

Skills we need
People who would enjoy this mahi:
  • is a passionate gardener or curious about nature (eg studying plants, environment, horticulture)
  • can work at least 2 days a week.
  • reliable and honest. Has a positive attitude.
  • can solve problems
  • a clear and prompt communicator in all channels: email, messaging etc.
  • willing to learn and share knowledge
  • enjoy working outdoors. Comfortable getting dirty, carrying gear, digging etc. 
  • live locally and have a reliable way to get to work
  • current valid driver licence.
The hourly rate depends on skills and experience with potential to increase the rate as skills are developed. The employment agreements are permanent part-time or casual, depending on availability.

PictureCompost - the basis of a healthy garden.
The work involves clearing overgrown areas, planting, and regular maintenance. Tasks include, but aren’t limited to:
  • hand weeding, weedeating and spraying
  • pruning and hedge trimming
  • planting and plant care
  • using and maintaining power tools and sprayers.
  • gathering waste to remove from site or to compost on site
  • accurately recording time and other job details on the tablet.
